State Background Whitepaper

Nearly two decades ago David Harel invented state charts as a way to describe complex event-driven systems. Since then, state charts have gained acceptance as a useful modeling formalism and been adopted as a component of many software modeling methodologies. This document briefly looks at the advantages of state charts, some challenges to implementing code directly from design and GLO's solution.

State Engine Vs. State Charts - Example: Litterbot

A simple example to illustrate the advantages of using state charts over simple state engines. Also used to illustrate the complex systems that can be easily represented. Litterbot is a hypothetical, automated robot for litter collection. StateLogics can of course be used to convert this example into executable code.
